Ashley Lackey, DVM, is an emergency veterinarian at Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists in Little Rock.
Dr. Lackey graduated from The University of South Florida earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Minor in Psychology. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and finished her clinical year at Louisiana State University. During her time in veterinary school, she had the benefit of being involved with research alongside the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network. Following graduation, she completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa, with a particular interest in emergency medicine.
After growing up in the sunshine state, living the life in the islands and making a short pit stop in Louisiana, Dr. Lackey is now back in Arkansas, her birthplace. She is enthusiastic about her emergency veterinary work here at Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists. She is a member of AVMA, ArVMA and has a Fear Free Certification to aid in making your pets emergency visit as stress free as possible.
Her favorite pastimes include fitness activities, scuba diving, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Her counterpart, Wesley McMullen, is also a veterinarian and their companions include two dogs (Spook and Chigger), a cat (Roo), a herd of cattle and a few rabbits and chickens.
