Matt Field, DVM, Diplomate ACVS, is a board-certified surgical specialist at Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists in Little Rock.
Dr. Field is a native of Ottumwa, Iowa. He attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa for his undergraduate studies and completed his veterinary studies at Iowa State University. He then completed a one-year rotating internship in Rochester, New York before moving to Memphis, TN in 2013 for a one-year surgical internship. He stayed on for a three-year residency in small animal surgery which he completed in 2017.
In 2020, Dr. Field became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).
Always up for a new adventure, he moved to Little Rock, AR to become the staff surgeon at Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists. Dr. Field’s professional interests include spinal surgery, all manner of orthopedic surgery and oncologic surgery. He is a member of the AVMA, TVMA, ArVMA, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM).
When not at work, Dr. Field enjoys hiking, cycling and spending time with his wife, Chelsea (also a veterinarian), and their dog and three cats.
